Newly appointed Chief of Pakistan Army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa

From getting promoted to Lt. General to General, here's our new head of Pakistan's incredibly powerful and vigilant Army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Appointed as the 16th Chief of Army Staff in Pakistan's 69 year old history, here's what you need to know about the man who will fill the deep shoes and succeed General Raheel Sharif as his successor from 29th November 2016 and on wards:

Image result for qamar bajwa
- He is known for his 'straightforwardness and blunt' command and directions when it comes to terrorism, violence and injustice.
- He has served at IG of Training and Evaluation — the position General Raheel Sharif held before becoming army chief.
- Has served Pakistan Army for more than 35+ years.
- He has commanded the 10 Corps, the army’s largest corps, which is responsible for the area along the Line of Control. That implies, he knows everything that's happening at the highly important LOC between India and Pakistan.
- He considers 'extremism' as the biggest threat to Pakistan. And after extremism, he believes that India is the biggest threat to his motherland.
- Has served as a Brigade Commander in Congo for United Nations.
- He is known for staying connected to every single person who is working under his command. He believes in 'communicating' every Army official during work rather than just sitting and seeing things.
- He belongs to the Baloch Regiment - a regiment that is known for producing three previous Generals who headed Pakistan Army in 69 years.
- His military colleagues say he is not attention-seeking and remains well-connected with his troops.
- Known as a person who doesn't believe in politics and protocol as such, as per his colleague. He stated: He is extremely professional, but very easy-going and full of compassion.
- Has over more than 15 years and plus experience of handling affairs in Kashmir and the northern areas of the country. As a Major General, he led the Force Command Northern Areas effectively.
- He resembles General Raheel Sharif in terms of policies, ideologies, thinking and approach to strategies/planning and etc.
And that's about it. He's the current 4-star General ranked official. And will he prove to establish himself as a perfect successor to General Raheel Sharif's remarkable legacy? Only time can tell. General Qamar Javed Bajwa, people.

Can machines think?

Can machines think?
The question whether a machine can think, understand, reason and learn, is not so simple. It purely depends on how we define the term “thinking”.
Image result for can machine think

This category is about whether or not computers, robots, and software agents can literally be said to think.  Humans think, chimps think, dogs think, cats and birds think. But do computers?  Is your computer thinking now?  Perhaps only specially programmed computers think?  Or perhaps only computers with special hardware can think -- hardware that resembles the neurons of the brain, for example. If computers can be made to think, then does that mean that humans are a kind of robot and their brains a kind of computer -- a neurocomputer, say?  One of the deeper issues here is that the term "thinking" is ambiguous in at least two ways: It can include being conscious of one's environment (surroundings), one's personal feelings and thoughts, etc., or it can mean cogitate, learn, plan, and solve problems, where these latter terms pick out mental events that may or may not be conscious. According to the second definition of thinking, yes machines can think. But if we consider the first one as machine can have feelings and thoughts then surely no, machines can’t think like humans. It all depends on the context in which we are talking about thinking.

Difference between compiler and interpreter

Difference between compiler and interpreter
Compiler and interpreter are computer programs that covert a program/source code  written in a programming  language to other programming language/machine code. Typically a programmer writes statements in a high level language and computers process instructions in low level languages or machine language, so to translate a  that instructions we need a program called compiler or interpreter. Both have same target task but they do it with different methods.

Compiler:
Compiler takes entire program as an input.
Compiler checks all errors and list them.
As it works on whole program so takes more memory than interpreter.
Known as Offline compilers.
Examples: C compiler

Interpreter:
Interpreter takes single statement as an input and execute them.
Interpreter check errors line by line.
As it works line by line so takes less memory.
Known as Online compilers.
Example: BASIC

Koi faisla to ho ke kidar jana chahiye By Parveen Shakir

Koi faisla to ho ke kidar jana chahiye,
Paani ko ab to sar se guzar jana chahiye,

Har baar erriyon pe gira hai mera lahuu,
Maqtal main ab ba-tarzz-e-digar jana chahiye,

Kya chal saken ge jin ka faqat masla yeh hai,
Jaane se pehle rakht-e-safar jana chahiye,

Jab bhi gaye azaab-e-dar-o-baaam tha wohi,

Feza mein ‘Keats’ ke lehje ki nermahat thi
Mausam apne rang mein ‘Faiz’ ka misraa tha
Duaa ke be-aawaaz, uloohi lamhoN mein
Woh lamhaa bhi kitna dilkashh lamha tha
Hath uTha ker jab aNkhoN hi aNkhoN mein
Us ne mujh ko apne Rab se maaNgaa tha
Phir mere chehre ko haathoN mein le ker
Kitne pyar se mera maatha chooma tha!
Hawa! kuch aj ki shab ka tu ahwaal suna
Kya woh apni chhat per aaj akela tha?
Ya koi mere jeisi saath thi, aur uss ne
Chand ko dekh ke us ka chehra dekhaa tha?

Apni ruswayi tere naam ka charcha dekhon By Parveen Shakir

Apni ruswayi tere naam ka charcha dekhon
Ik zara sher kahon aur mein kia kia dekhon

Neend aajaye to kia mehfilein barpa dekhon
Aankh khul jaye to tnhayi ka sehra dekhon

Sham bhi ho gayi dhundhla gayin aankhein meri
Bhulne wale mein kab tk tera rstah dekhun

Sb zidein us ki mein puri karon har baat sunu
Aik bache ki tarah se use hansta dekhon

Mujh pe cha jaye jo barsaat ki khushboo ki tarah
Ang ang apna usi rut mein mehkta dekhon

Tu meri tarah se yakta hai magar mere habeeb
Ji mein aata hai koi aur bhi tujh sa dekhun

Mein ne jis lamhe ko pooja hai use bas ik baar
Khawab bn kar teri aankhon mein utar ta dekhon

Tu mera kuch nahi lgta hai magar jaan e hayat
Jane kiun tere liye dil ko dharakta dekhon

Perveen Shakir was a legndery urdu poetess of all the time. Her first book was "khushbu". Her poetry is full of love.

teri khushbu ka pata karti hai
mujh pe ehsan hawa karti hai
shab ki tanhai main ab to aksar
guftagu tujh se raha karti hai
dil ko us rah pe chalna hi nahin
jo mujhe tujh se juda karti hai
zindagi meri thi lekin ab to
tere kahne main raha karti hai
us ne dekha hi nahin warna ye ankh
dil ka ehwal kaha karti hai
beniyaz-e-kaf-e-dariya angusht
ret par nam likha karti hai

Introduction to HTML

Background
In 1980, physicist Tim Berners-Lee, a contractor at CERN, proposed and prototyped ENQUIRE, a system for CERN researchers to use and share documents. In 1989, Berners-Lee wrote a memo proposing an Internet-based hypertext system. Berners-Lee specified HTML and wrote the browser and server software in late 1990.
What is HTML?
  • HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language
  • HTML describes the structure of Web pages using markup
  • HTML elements are the building blocks of HTML pages
  • HTML elements are represented by tags
  • HTML tags label pieces of content such as "heading", "paragraph", "table", and so on
  • Browsers do not display the HTML tags, but use them to render the content of the page

  • Hyper is the opposite of linear. It used to be that computer programs had to move in a linear fashion. This before this, this before this, and so on. HTML does not hold to that pattern and allows the person viewing the World Wide Web page to go anywhere, any time they want.
  • Text is what you will use. Real, honest to goodness English letters.
  • Mark up is what you will do. You will write in plain English and then mark up what you wrote. More to come on that in the next Primer.
  • Language because they needed something that started with "L" to finish HTML and Hypertext Markup Louie didn't flow correctly. Because it's a language, really -- but the language is plain English.

Two brothers make us proud, Shabbir Sharif and Raheel Sharif

Two sons. Two brothers. One mother and one motherland. Born from a single mother, the elder brother (left) received Pakistan's most reputed and highest military honor, Nishan-e-Haider for showing extreme valor, courage and bravery whereas the younger one (right) became the head of Pakistan's highly powerful Army and lead it like no other becoming the most successful and respected Army Chief in Pakistan's 69 year history. For people to know, Raheel is 13 years younger to his iconic brother but what legendary brothers. Surely these siblings have made Pakistan proud like no other. The brothers who serviced and lived only for one word - Pakistan. Needless to say that when your elder brother is a Nishan-e-Haider, the younger brother has to live a life to make him proud and that's what General Raheel did. Bravery runs in their blood, the love for Pakistan was what they were taught from their household. Also to add, Shabbir Sharif (left) is known as the most decorated Army officer in Pakistan's history and the only person to have both honors; the Nishan-e-Haider and Sitara-e-Jurat for his bravery along with Sword of Honour!

Women's big bottoms, a sign of intelligence

According to latest research conducted and compiled by University of Oxford, women having 'big bottoms' is a sign of intelligence and living a healthy life. Studies show that having a generous rear end and thighs, rather than a pot belly, cuts levels of 'bad' cholesterol and raises levels of the 'good' cholesterol that protect against hardening of the arteries. It also cuts the risk of diabetes, a review in the International Journal of Obesity reports. The findings add to a welter of research on the benefits of having a pear-shaped body. The Oxford University researchers gathered together various studies on the health benefits of lower body, or ' gluteofemoral' fat, then tried to work out why it is better for us than fat stored around the middle. Finally, it breaks down more slowly than belly fat. While this makes it harder to shift, it also means it produces fewer chemicals called inflammatory cytokines which have been linked to heart disease, diabetes and obesity. In short, having a big butt indicates that you're healthy.

    Trust Yourself

There comes a time in your life when you learn not to trust people. It's hard to believe their words. Words are nothing unless you implement. And many people fail to do so. Most people are inconsistent. Some, even when you think you know them well, are ultimately unknowable. Hence you start to believe that you can never meet someone your kind. Someone who'd be loyal and honest and caring and loving like you. You either love too much or you don't. There's no in between. So when people say they just don't love you the same way, believe them. Believe the fact that the love they had for you is no more and they're only trying to sugarcoat it.

It's hard to believe that, isn't it? Cause you've put in all the effort to keep them. You've given them all the love you ever had. You tried and fought as hard as you could. But the truth is, people change. As distressing as this may sound, sooner or later you just have to accept this. And acceptance is the only thing that can free you from all the sadness and all the anger that is inside of you.
You come to realize that no matter how hard you try, how much you love, some people just can't be right for you. Loss and gain, sadness and happiness, it all goes away with time. They don't stay forever. What they do to us is what remains. But you have to keep going. Be thankful for what they've given, whether it's love, pain, a lesson or just memories to look back at.
You look back on everything you've been through and you realize how much you've grown. How hard things were but somehow you managed to move on from them. You managed to forget about them. And that's a lot to be thankful for.
And the truth is, deep down we're all aware of what will make us happier. But in reality what we really want is unattainable. So we settle for less and stay unhappy. We often become depressed. But there is hope. Prayer. It can change your life in an instant. In order to recover, have faith, it's crucial.

Fawad Afzal Khan's demands are touching skies

After the tension of India-Pak, Pakistani actors are back in country. All Pakistani performers, artists and actors are back to country due to the tension between Pakistan and India but almost everyone is back to business and we've read about how Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is all set for a world tour, how Mahira Khan has signed a film with Shoaib Mansoor, how Ali Zafar has signed a project and stuff but Fawad Afzal Khan is yet to sign anything Pakistani yet. According to this report/article that I read in this newspaper yesterday, the reason why producers are not approaching Fawad is because he's demanding too much money after getting featured in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. That article stated that Fawad is charging at least 2 crores as his salary for a single Pakistani film which is why producers are not willing to cast him in their projects. Well, in Pakistan, a 'complete' film is made in 8 to 10 crores and no producer will enjoy giving 25% of his entire budget to an actor. Previously, Lahore se Aagey Official was released and that movie's entire budget was 7.25 crores.

How wigs are made from donated hair

wig is a head of hair made from horse-hair, human hair, wool, feathers, buffalo hair, or synthetic, worn on the head for fashion or various other aesthetic and stylistic reasons, including cultural and religious observance.

28 year old Rupa getting her head shaved so her hair can be donated to the Gods at the Thiruthani Murugan Temple, India. Following are the words of that photograph who took this photograph for Getty Images:
All of us are familiar with wigs and weaves. A lot of women use them, and it was fascinating to see where the hair comes from. Before I started this project, I never would have thought that a lot of these expensive products originate at a small hilltop temple in rural India! I met Rupa who has her hair shaven to donate to the Gods, a process known as tonsuring. Rupa donated her hair with the wish that her daughter’s illness is cured. It is common for Hindu believers to tonsure their hair at a temple as a young child, and also to celebrate a wish coming true, such as the birth of a baby or the curing of an illness. The 'temple hair', as it's known, is then auctioned off to a processing plant and then sold as pricey wigs and weaves in the US, Europe and Africa. During the project, I visited the Raj Hair International processing plant. There were hundreds of women working in a dozen different rooms, combing the hair, washing and drying, de-licing, curling, and making wigs by hand, strand by strand. I was told that it takes a full month to hand make a full wig. No wonder the price tag for these products is so high! What I think makes this story so interesting is the contrast. The women tonsure their hair for spiritual reasons, to show their love and appreciation to God. Meanwhile in the West or Africa, women shell out a hefty sum for their hair to enhance their physical looks.
